So, first of all, I SUCK at using self-tanner. Is it supposed to come off in patches, eventually? I thought it would wear off evenly... it does NOT. Luckily, my pool opened this weekend. Good bye, splotches, hello, skin cancer.
Secondly, my garden is still alive. 7 days and counting! I have watered it almost every day. Lots of people have given me advice, which I appreciate. Keep it coming. I know less about gardening than I do about self-tanner. I'm still worried about those Evil Animals eating my vegetables. I'm trying to think up a defense system. So far my only idea involves a stun gun.
(Note... typical me, I'm anxious about animals eating my plants.... FULL MONTHS BEFORE THIS WILL EVEN BE POSSIBLE.)
So, this weekend was a lot of fun. On Friday, I began with lunch with Kara at Panera... they discontinued the tomato soup and now I hate Panera. But I still love Kara! Then, I drove to Zanesville with Nick... dinner at Adornettos (AHHHHHHH, sooooo good, Adornettos, you are incredible), and then hanging out with the parents and eating chocolate pie (thank you, Mom!).
Saturday morning, my body woke me up at 7:00 am (because it sucks). Everyone in the house was still asleep. I managed to wait until 7:30 before I was bored enough to go into Nick's room and wake him up.
Sarah: WAKE UP!!
Nick: Wha?!? What??
Sarah: Hi!!
Nick: What time is it??
Sarah: Time to get UP!!
Nick: :::curse word::: It's 7:30!
And... the day was off to a good start! We all had yummy brunch on the deck, I had an allergy attack to round things off, and then we all went off to the yacht club to go sailing.
Despite a lack of constant wind, sailing was still a good time. I forgot to bring spider-death-spray (necessary because for some reason, sail boats = gigantic spiders), but other people killed them for me. Thank you.
Dad: Sarah, pull the foresail in.
Sarah: okay.
Dad: HARDER!
Sarah: I'm trying, Dad!!
Dad: HARDER!! PULL HARDER!! ::: laughing :::
Sarah: DAD, I am trying!!!!!! ::: serious manual labor :::
Dad: Okay, clip it off. Good job.
Sarah: FINALLY. ::: dirty look :::
Dad: Hahaha... I could have let the wind out of the sail to make it a lot easier for you. Hahahaha.
Everyone except me: Hahahahahahahahahaha.
Sarah: ..................... I have a blister.
The other absolute highlight was when my dad let Nick sail the boat. And how he almost dumped my mother into the lake.
Quick lesson: when the wind is strong and you keep the sails pulled tight, the boat will heel over pretty far... you can even bring on water and people can fall out. The boat won't capsize (for the most part), but it's still scary (for wusses. = Me.)
The wind suddenly got really strong, and the boat started to heel over... and we took on some water... and my mom was on the low side, and she got really wet. My dad finally stopped laughing long enough to take over and let the wind out of the sails so we evened out. It was hysterical. (sorry, Mom!!!!!! you were just a casualty of my sense of humor.)
After a couple of hours, we headed back into the Club, and had a drink on the veranda... and then went and had dinner, and Nick and I drove home. Fun fun.
The rest of the weekend was full of church, BBQ-ing, time at the pool, and friends. Good times!
Also, I was proved correct in that the fastest way to Jungle Jim's from my house is north on Winton Road. It's good to be right!

Wait wait wait. . . . who is Nick?
ditto to the comment above ;)
UH-HUH!!! CHECK YOUR EMAIL, GIRL!
Curious minds wanna know! As IF you could pull this all out and NOT have questions!
But also? I love your dad! hehehe! Oh Sarah, you crack me up!
Hahahahahaha..... oh jeeeez!!
I love how she just laughs and avoids the question....
By the by, I will be happy to walk you through my garden tomorrow and give any advice and/or info you need! I might even let you work it! hee hee
DETAILS PLEASE.
HEHE!! Sarah what a fun weekend. You're a grand writer. Has your family always been a boating family? How did I not know this? Or is this more recent? Love your conversation with your Dad....and I'm sure he loved teasing you.
OK TWO THINGS:
#1 So Nick made it into the blog-- and I feel a little bit special that I KNOW WHO HE IS AND WHY HE IS IN YOUR BLOG. Oh yeah-- congrats Nick. You have been immortalized in the blogsphere.
#2 Way to go with the tan-in-tha-can. I used the Dove Tinted Moisturizer, it makes my legs less scary while I get a tan (make that burn).
And one more thing: Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Now, I know Nick reads your blog. What is his reaction to all of this uproar?
I feel like there is a mini riot going on on my blog right now!!
THERE IS!!! *I'M* just waiting for Mr. Nick to chime in! hehehe!
Sounds like tons 'o fun!
I was trying to remain elusive, but due to popular demand... All I really feel the need to say is that it was NOT 7:30 when Sarah came into my bedroom, AT HER PARENT'S HOUSE, in order to jump on my bed and wake me up. It's funny how with Sarah things tend to get dramatized in her favor! But isn't that why she is so lovable?
HAHAHA!!! So was it EARLIER??? We all know Sarah's a wee tad dramatic! ;)
But yes, that IS why she's so lovable!
HEHEE!!! I think Sarah is lovable for lots of reasons, but I'm sure glad that you like that one!! :) And thanks for revealing yourself. Do you know how much girls love that kind of thing? Probably. Nice to meet you Nick. Or hear from you anyway! :)
I hear that Nick is a good dresser, and might even be a better dresser than Sarah.
1. Hillary, it was like 7:15, he is such an exaggerator!!!!!!!!!!!
2. Autumn, your comment cracked me up for multiple reasons, but mostly because you know if someone didn't like my drama queen tendencies... it would not go well.
3. KAREN! THE SECOND PART OF YOUR STATEMENT IS NOT TRUE!!!!!!!!
well, now you HAVE tell your readers who this Nick character is!!!
This is awesome!
Bahahahahahaha! I love it all! Bahhaahahaahaah. More please! Me lika da juicy parts!
And sailing? I don't do cool stuff like that ever. But we COULD get the drama on. Oh yes we could :D.
"it was like 7:15, he is such an exaggerator!!!!!!!!!!!"
...
I mean 7:10, or maybe 7:05. OKOK it was 7:02! whatever guys, I do NOT exaggerate!
heeeheeeheee remember that conversation?
Hahahahaha... KRIS YES....... hahahahaha. So funny. I talk myself into a corner sometimes.
