KARA aka GOLDSTAR aka BLACK*DIAMOND

Kara and I met at work... she and I have had the same job forever, and been promoted at exactly the same time, 3 times. PA, Sr PA, CRA. Because we are AWE-SOME. And our names rhyme.

I don't know when I discovered that Kara was the funniest person on earth, but she is. One of my favorite memories of Kara consists of the many, MANY times she has mocked me for my lack of skill in the paddle-ball arena. No, I am physically not capable of playing paddle-ball. Yes, I will let you take camera phone video of me not playing paddle-ball. I regret this, especially once Jason uploaded it to youtube.

Kara is all at once an extremely bad influence and the source of much wisdom. This is probably why she is one of my best friends. She talks me down from the crazy-ledge more than any one person should honestly ever have to do, and she also encourages me to buy expensive things and make fun of people. She comes across very sweet and adorable, but...... Oh, and she also helps me with math. Like when we got promoted to CRA and I kept doing the math with our new salary (= a huge HUGE raise) and almost started crying because I thought I was going to make less than I was currently making. ...... It was a rough 10 minutes. Thank you Kara for resolving that situation with a few quick clicks of your computer calculator.

Also, the best thing ever, is that at our corporate office, the hallways are all lined with photographs of employees. And Kara has knocked no less than TWO - UPDATED - THREE OF THEM off the wall with her elbow. Both times they have fallen to the floor and cracked and/or shattered. It is for this reason that the following sign was designed and hung in her office. It gives me immense joy. (I made it)

!!!!!!!!!!!!! I forget why we started calling ourselves Goldstars, but it coincided with our first promotions. We have also appropriated the name BLACK*DIAMOND due to the new method of funneling airport visitors through security. I hope you can hear my voice say BLACK*DIAMOND really fast and loudly and dramatically, because that is how it needs to be said. Call me if you need a refresher.
